Open beta Chromium side panel for your encrypted Helvety tasks, notes, contacts, links, and folders. Sign in, unlock with a passkey, then create and edit without leaving the page.
Reach your encrypted Helvety data from a Chromium side panel while you browse. After email sign-in and a passkey unlock, the panel decrypts your tasks, notes, contacts, links, and folders on your device so you can read, create, edit, delete, and reorder them without opening the web app. This is an open beta and is not in the Chrome Web Store yet, so you install it manually from a GitHub release.
Free with published source on GitHub; see the repository LICENSE for the exact open-source terms. The extension is in open beta and not yet published to the Chrome Web Store, so installation is manual: use the Go to App button on this page to open GitHub Releases, download the packaged build, and load it unpacked in your browser. Expect rough edges while the beta matures.
Decryption happens inside the extension, and master keys live in the extension's own storage behind a passkey unlock, separate from helvety.com. Unlocking the website does not unlock the extension, and the extension never receives the web device-trust cookie. It needs a Chromium browser with the Side Panel API (Chrome 114 or newer, or current Edge).
Decrypted lists and writes require passkey unlock support enabled for your installed extension id on Helvety Auth. See the GitHub README for the current setup checklist and known limitations.
Use the Go to App button on this page to open the Helvety Browser Extension GitHub Releases page.
Download the packaged extension asset (ZIP) from the most recent release, then extract it to a folder you keep on disk.
In Chrome open chrome://extensions, or in Edge open edge://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extracted folder.
Click the Helvety toolbar icon to open the side panel, sign in with your email one-time code, then unlock end-to-end encryption with your passkey to see and edit your data.
Current Helvety products in this catalog are free to use with no paid tiers or subscriptions.
